This isn’t going to be one of my most “professional” posts. It’s also why I’ve been silent this week, even though my goal was to blog daily for the month of April. I’m not comfortable sharing my personal life, but I’d like everyone to see the “why” behind how much I want this company to succeed – to understand that I mean it when I say that every share counts, every comment, every follow, every bit of word of mouth, every discount code….

Why a Publishing Company?

It’s been on my mind since 2016. Every time I was ready to start, something got in the way: an emergency, un unexpected bill, a divorce, a death, work – and the list goes on. It’s my opportunity to do what I love (books!) and to interact with people the way I think they should be treated.

That being said, I know someone is thinking: “But you aren’t giving advanced, but you want to treat people right.” If you read on, you’ll see a large amount of the why on this below. My “treat people the way they should be treated” has to, for now, be respect, listening, assisting, fair royalties…

Long Story Short(ish)

All my children are adults. None are married, one has been previously married, though. I am blessed enough to have 2 boys and 2 girls as well a 4 grandchildren. Both of my daughters have children, my boys have no children. Only my oldest daughter is currently in any type of relationship.

My younger daughter now has a newborn. No father involved. No job. Living with me. I spend as much time taking care of the baby as she does. I cook, clean, do laundry, shop, work an over 40 hour a week corporate salaried job, etc. She doesn’t drive either. So I’m also the driver for her and my other adult son – he doesn’t drive – that lives at home (my other two do not live at home). The two that do, had left, but returned.

I took in my best friend’s children. She was diagnosed with cancer while pregnant with her newborn. She refused treatment in order to keep him healthy. I have her 4 children and will be starting over. She will remain in the hospital for them to keep her comfortable until she passes. I now have young children again that are 8, 5, 3, and 2 weeks.

I homeschooled all my older children and will be starting homeschool with the 8 year old (will start the upcoming school year out of public school) and kinder with the 5 year old, who has had no preschool activities.

I moved to the city 4 years ago from being rural my entire life. I had an off grid homestead and ranch forever. When I divorced, I had no choice but to have better income to provide for my youngest two that were still living at home, so I moved to the city and entered the corporate world.

I want to leave it.

I want to buy rural property again.

I want to grow things, have a ranch, cook daily for the children and grandbaby from scratch. I want to homeschool all of them.

I want to LOVE my job…

…and support my family.

I am hoping Faith in Print Publishing and the support of each one of you will help me do that.

I’ve already been drooling over rural vacant land trying to determine how I manage the cost of moving everything 5 hours. How I manage to afford to purchase a 40+ acre property. How I afford to give my daughter and her babies a place to live on the property as well as fence it, get wells, build structures, set the land up for animals and crops.

I’ve decided to move forward at this specific time with Faith in Print, because my faith is held by being able to have a sustainable job that can provide for my large family.

If you’ve made it this far, I’d love a like and a comment just to know that you survived a personal post ♥
